In different worlds people have different lives. Touya, who is a king in Syaoran's dimension, now serves food. Shocked by this revelation, Fay recalls Yuko's explanation prior to their teleportation, assuring Syaoran that this was to be expected. Syaoran begins to worry about King Touya and High Priest Yukito, but recalls that his sole worry should be finding Sakura's feathers.

After lunch, Masayoshi offers to show the group around Hansin and aid them in their search. When he goes off to call home, the group discusses their dreams last night. Apparently, Kurogane also had a strange dream involving a beast. Amid their discussion, a morbidly obese man jumps in with a head comparable to a pumpkin. He and a dozen similarly dressed pumpkin heads confront Kurogane, asking if he was the man Shougo liked battling. To his dismay, it is little Syaoran who Shougo praised. The man, who we will refer to as Pumpkin Head hereafter, shows off his horseshoe crab kudan to Syaoran and demands a battle. Syaoran is reluctant, but Kurogane is more than willing to show off.

As the horseshoe crab's onslaught begins, Kurogane can only dodge the attacks. Suddenly, Kurogane's gigantic dragon kudan emerges. Revealing his sword and commanding the kudan to attack, Kurogane makes Pumpkin Head look foolish. In shock, Pumpkin Head questions if Kurogane is a member of Syaoran's team. Kurogane replies in the negative, saying his only allegiance is to Princess Tomoyo.
