Returning home, Syaoran is confronted by an inquisitive Sorata. Having a background in history and provoked by Syaoran's enigmatic kudan, Sorata begins to tell his theory relating the kudan to gods. It seems that the same number of gods and kudan exist, leaving him to assume that the kudan are really Hansin's gods. This is a great notion for Syaoran, as a helpful god will surely aid his quest for Sakura's feather.
As the group converses, a new revelation penetrates the discourse: when the kudan disappear, the feather's presence is no longer detectable by Mokona. The feather must then be inside of a kudan!
Before heading out once more, Syaoran takes a final peek at Sakura and begins to reminisce. He recalls a time when Sakura was ill. She was told her fever would reside if she fell asleep, and asks Syaoran to stay with her and hold her hand. She bashfully wants Syaoran to be the first person she sees when she wakes up.
In the streets of Hansin, the group begins to search for the kudan that holds Sakura's feather. As they stroll down a road, the eerie sight of a boy half-emerged in a wall frightens the group! Masayoshi (the boy who Syaoran had saved in the previous chapitre) runs up and introduces his kudan. Apparently its power is being able to know where people are located. Before Masayoshi can even finish explaining his Kudan, he is swooped away by a gigantic condor-esque kudan. Mokona, who was resting on his shoulder, is also taken away. A letter is then thrown at Syaoran, telling him to go to Hansin Palace.
