Masayoshi's kudan has transformed into a giant and reveals an attack ability similar to Godzilla's nuclear breath. Masayoshi pleads to his kudan to return to its normal form, as he's out of danger now that he has been elevated above the ground by the giant's hands. Fay realizes the feather's power is too strong for Masayoshi to control.

As Masayoshi's kudan uncontrollably stomps the grounds of the Hansin Palace, Syaoran tells him about the feather. He will try and grab it, but warns Masayoshi that he might be hurt. Masayoshi informs Syaoran of the promise he made and that he would help him no matter what. By enduring the singe from the embers of Syaoran's fiery kudan, Masayoshi reaffirms his loyalty to Syaoran.

Sprouting into the chest of Masayoshi's kudan, Syaoran finds the feather which has been causing all the trouble. Upon removing it, Masayoshi's kudan shrinks back into the form of the small boy it once was. From afar, Shogo uses his kudan to make it rain, successfully distinguishing all of the fires caused by the giant and Syaoran's kudan.

Syaoran stands in awe, gazing in disbelief at the feather. He now is one step closer to saving Sakura.
